Ketond is an exogenous ketone supplement which has been around since 2016, but doesn’t seem to have gained the same traction as other keto supplements, such as Pruvit.
We take a look at Ketond vs Pruvit and compare the two keto supplements, the ingredients, performance, taste and value for money.
Ketond Advanced Ingredients
The core ingredients of Ketond is Beta Hydroxybutyrate (BHB) in the form of Sodium, Magnesium and Calcium. Here is the breakdown:

Ketond uses patented ‘goBHB’ ketones. The total BHBs per serving is 11.7 grams.
Depending on the flavor of Ketond you choose, there are also other ingredients such as beetroot extract or riboflavin for color. All Ketond products are sweetened with stevia.
Pruvit Keto OS NAT Ingredients
In comparison, Pruvit Keto OS NAT has 12.6 grams of BHBs, however, Pruvit do not specify the breakdown of sodium, magnesium and calcium – it is simply referred to as a ‘blend’. The exact quantity of sodium, calcium and magnesium is not known.
I’m also not a huge fan of some of the additives in Pruvit’s products, such as their ‘patented’ C-MED 100. This is simply a fancy name for the herb Inner Bark of Uncaria Tomentosa, otherwise known as cats claw.
It is important to know that if you are pregnant, suffer any autoimmune disease or Leukemia you should not consume Inner Bark of Uncaria Tomentossa.

What is Patented goBHB Ketones in Ketond?
goBHB is beta hydroxybutyrate salts that convert to ketones in the body. Licensed by Compound Solutions, (the global distributor for goBHB), this product has undergone additional testing and quality measures to ensure compliance with regulations and certifications.
Customers working with branded goBHB® are assured the material is regulatory-compliant. goBHB® is GRAS-certified, as well as patent-protected, and Informed-Choice/Informed-Sport certified. The cost of Pruvit Keto OS is approximately $6.50 USD per serving, not including shipping.
The cost of Ketond is much less than Pruvit, at approximately $2.66 USD per serve, shipping excluded.
Pruvit Keto OS is packaged in individual sachets, which is far more convenient for use on the go, or at work, in comparison to the larger tubs. Ketond also have a variety pack however, which offers individual sized servings in 3 different flavors.

Pruvit vs Ketond Taste
Pruvit is the clear winner when it comes to the variety of flavors and the taste of the supplements.

Both Pruvit and Ketond mix up nicely. They are not grainy and the drink is smooth. Sadly, I wasn’t a fan of the Ketond Flavors. The Caramel Macchiato is super sweet and Tigers Blood is incredibly overpowering.
I have a feeling that the taste different could be down to the sweeteners of choice. Ketond uses Stevia for sweetening, where as Pruvit uses a blend of erythritol and stevia extract.
I have a preference for erythritol and monk fruit for sweetening and try to avoid stevia at all costs, so this is possibly why I didn’t enjoy the Ketond flavors.
If you don’t mind stevia, Ketond is worth trying as it is far more budget friendly than Pruvit.
Ketond Biomax vs Pruvit

Ketond Biomax is an upgraded product from Ketond Advanced, launched in 2019.
The difference between Ketond Biomax and Ketond Advanced, is the Biomax formula uses D-beta-hydroxybutyrate, which when ingested, is absorbed by the liver and converted to ketones the same way your body would naturally produce ketones. This is referred to as bio-identical ketones.
Ketond Biomax also has added L-Leucine to help with muscle protein synthesis, L-Taurine for delivery of nutrients and improved exercise performance and Acetyl L-Carnitine for increased fat burning and cognition.
Pruvit also contains L-Taurine and L-Leucine. This makes Ketond Biomax more comparable to Pruvit.
Ketond Biomax has the same amount of beta hydroxybutyrate as Ketond Advanced, but with slightly different levels of salts. Here is the breakdown:

As you can see by the table above, Ketond Biomax has more sodium, more magnesium, less calcium and the addition of potassium in comparison with Ketond Advanced.
Evidence, from one mouse study, suggests that leucine doesn’t significantly increase beta-hydroxybutyrate (BOHB) but the addition of leucine to a ketogenic diet in humans, while increasing the protein-to-fat ratio of the diet, doesn’t reduce ketosis.

Further research on D-beta-hydroxybutyrate led us to this article published in February 2020 which discusses D-BHB being a monoester, natural ketone body, and safe for use in healthy individuals up to 3 times a day.
As with all Ketond products, Biomax is made in the USA.
Ketond Biomax Flavors
There is less flavor choice with Ketond Biomax than there is with Pruvit. The available flavors are:
- Tigers Blood (Strawberry, Watermelon and Coconut Flavor – sweet)
- Aloha Punch (Pineapple and Raspberry Flavor)
- Caramel Macchiato (Caramel and Coffee Flavor – currently out of stock)
In comparison to Pruvit, I really like that Ketond are open about the level of BHB’s used in their products and it is not marketed as a blend.
In Pruvit, that is a BHB Blend, how do you know exactly what level of salts you are drinking?
Ketond Biomax is slightly more expensive than Ketond Advanced, but still significantly cheaper than Pruvit.
Ketond vs Pruvit Keto OS Pro

Pruvit Keto OS Pro is an exogenous ketone supplement with added medium chain tryglycerides (MCT), available in either a dairy or non dairy blend.
Again, Pruvit do not break down the exact quantities of products used in the blend, however, list KetoNAT R-Beta Hydroxybutyrate as one of the ingredients.
Including the added ingredients such as the MCT powder, whey protein (in the dairy versions), pumpkin seed extract (non dairy), C-Med100 and Fermented L-Leucine, the total blend equates to 16 grams.
Ketond don’t make an exogenous ketone supplement and MCT oil combination, however, they do make Ketostax which can be combined with other Ketond drinks. This would however, require you to purchase two different supplements.
Ketond do amazing deals on bundles of their products, giving away free full size bags of products. At the time of writing, their current special was 2 Ketond Biomax plus one free bag of Ketostax (your choice of formula).
This makes the cost per serving a tiny $2 per serve. I’ve discussed the differences in the Ketostax formulas further down in this post.
Ketond vs Pruvit Unleashed

Pruvit Unleashed is the newest exogenous ketone supplement released from Pruvit. The difference is Pruvit Unleased has 17.3 grams of BHB Blend.
This is compared to 12.6 grams of BHB blend in Pruvit Keto OS NAT, and 11.7 grams in Ketond Advanced and Biomax.
Pruvit Keto Unleashed still contains C-MED 100, and also contains L-Taurine, Fermented L-Leucine and Black Fulvic Acid Powder, as well as erythritol, natural flavors, citric acid, stevia extract, caffeine and xantham gum.
The ingredients in Pruvit Unleashed are the same as Keto OS NAT and MAX with the addition of one ingredient – Black Fulvic Acid Powder. A quick search online found the following information about Fulvic Acid:

I couldn’t quite get past the sentence that Fulvic Acid naturally occurs in dirt, compost and sewage.
It is impossible to compare Ketond and Pruvit Unleased, simply because Pruvit do not provide the quantity of the ingredients used in their blend.
Also, Ketond do not make a product using black fulvic acid powder and cats claw (otherwise known as C-MED 100 to Pruvit).
Any attempt to compare these products against each other wouldn’t really be comparing an apple and an orange. Different products.
Ketostax
Ketostax is available in 3 formulations – Ketostax MCT Powder, Ketostax Metabolic Accelerator and Ketostax Strength and Endurance.
What is the difference between these three? Lets take a look
Ketostax MCT Powder

This product has 5.8 grams of medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil per serving combined with fiber.
The breakdown of medium chain triglycerides is not known. As you may know, there are 4 medium chain triglycerides (C6 to C12). Ketond has not specified which MCTs they have used and therefore it is acceptable to assume they have used a blend.
C8 to C12 are the most common MCTs with some manufacturers creating only C8 MCT oils which are believed to be the easiest MCT to be absorbed by the human body.
According to the study mentioned above, all medium chain triglycerides are absorbed via the hepatic portal vein (the vein leading into the liver). Long Chain Triglycerides need to be processed by the lymphatic system, (not directly absorbed by the body as with medium chain triglycerides) therefore it makes sense that some manufacturers are creating C8 MCT oils only, as C8 has a shorter chain than C10 and C12.
To sum this up, shorter chain fatty acids are transported to the liver by the hepatic vein. They are then converted into ketone bodies in the liver ready for use by the body.
You can drink Ketostax MCT Powder on its own (mixed with water or almond milk) or add it to coffee, smoothies or another one of the Ketond supplements.
Be mindful however, if mixing this with Ketond Advanced or Ketond Biomax fruit flavors, Ketond MCT Oil powder does have a slight vanilla taste.
Our recommendation would be to add it to the caramel macchiato flavored Ketond products instead.
Ketostax Metabolic Accelerator

Prebiotic fiber is good for bone health and inflammatory conditions and is likely to be the base product for holding the other extracts in this product.
CLA Powder (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid naturally found in beef, lamb and dairy products. Synthetic CLA comes from safflower oil.
This study published in 2019, showed that overweight men given CLA supplementation for 6 months lost more body fat than those given a placebo. There was also no negative consequences on the body’s metabolic system.
Green Coffee Bean Extract helps to inhibit the formulation of fat cells by the body.
L-Carnitine is a co-factor in the beta-oxidation of fatty acids and the metabolism of fats.
The organic acids found in Garcinia are (-)-HCA, citric acid, tartaric acid and malic acid. -(-)HCA has been contributed to weight management and anti obesity because it promotes the feeling of fullness. It also accelerates fat oxidation.
Caffeine – interestingly, the half life of caffeine in humans can range from 2 to 12 hours. As well as a stimulant (and anxiety increasing agent) caffeine plays a role in fatty acid oxidation and switches the body from using glycogen as fuel to using fats a fuel.
Evodiamine has been shown to have potential anti-inflammatory effects, exhibit anti tumor properties, has fat loss effects, a beneficial effect on cardiovascular diseases and increases glucose uptake in brain tissue.
How to Use Ketond
Ketond tastes best with cold water. We recommend using a shaker bottle to mix one serving of Ketond supplement powder with 12 to 16 oz of water.
If you find the flavor is too sweet or strong, add more water.
You can also mix Ketond with unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened coconut milk or add to your coffee or any low carb drink.
The risk of gastrointestinal upset increases when you combine products together, so it is best to just start off with water.
You could also start off with half a scoop rather than a whole scoop, particularly if you have a sensitive stomach.
When Should I Drink Ketond?
Ketond should be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
You can also use Ketond 30 minutes before a workout and if you’re feeling that 3pm slump, have another glass of Ketond instead of reaching for a coffee or sugar laden chocolate bar.
Ketond vs Pruvit – The Final Comparison
BHB Salts
I have to give a huge congratulations to Ketond for jumping on the patented goBHB bandwagon and using a quality BHB mix which is publicly recorded. Knowing exactly what you are consuming is essential, in my opinion.
Pruvits BHB Blend is slightly higher than Ketond, but I’m disappointed that they don’t disclose the exact quantities of products that go into the blend.
Taste
Pruvit is the clear winner for me when it comes to taste. Their range of flavors is better than Ketond and the ketone drinks have a much nicer flavor.
Cost
Ketond is far more cost effective than Pruvit. Ketond also offer excellent value when buying packs of their ketone drinks in bulk.
