What is Brain Octane Oil Good For?

Brain Octane Oil is beneficial for reducing food cravings, supporting brain function and providing your body and brain with energy. Brain Octane Oil assists your body to stay in ketosis.

How Do You Use Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil?

Brain Octane Oil is best mixed into foods or drinks you are consuming. Brain Octane Oil is most often added to coffee, creating what is known as Bulletproof Coffee.

Does Brain Octane Help Lose Weight?

keto weight loss

Brain Octane Oil may assist with increasing metabolism, reducing appetite and food cravings. This in turn, may assist with weight loss.

Whist brain octane oil is a dietary supplement, it is not specifically designed for weight loss. You should use brain octane oil in conjunction with a balanced ketogenic diet.

Does Brain Octane Oil put you into Ketosis?

If you are following a ketogenic diet, brain octane oil is converted into ketones via the liver as soon as it enters your body. If you are already in ketosis, brain octane oil will help you maintain this.

If you are not in ketosis, brain octane oil won’t magically put you there. Your body needs to burn the existing glycogen stores before it can enter ketosis and start burning fat for fuel. Using brain octane oil will help with this process, as will keto supplements.

Is MCT Oil and Brain Octane Oil the same?

Brain Octane Oil is unique that it is made up of only one of the medium chain triglyceride oils, caprylic oil.

There are 4 medium chain triglycerides – C6 (caproic acid), C8 (caprylic acid), C10 (capric acid) and C12 (lauric acid). The different numbers (C6 to C12) refer to the number of carbon atoms each fatty acid has.

The length of the carbon chain is very important in the way your body digests and metabolizes fats.

All medium chain triglycerides come from coconut oil, or palm oil kernals. MCT Oil could be any combination of the 4 medium chain triglycerides. Brain Octane Oil contains C8 oil only.

Does MCT Oil Make You Poop?

For some people, this can happen. Other people have no effect from MCT oil. Here’s why:

Medium Chain Triglycerides are absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract directly into the liver where they are metabolized. Studies show that MCT’s are metabolized as fast as glucose.

It has been proven that MCT’s have antimicrobial properties, improve the microbiota in the gut and contribute to intestinal health.

Medium chain triglycerides are treated differently in your body than long chain triglycerides (the unhealthy fats that are absorbed via your lymphatic system). This study shows that MCT’s accelarate small bowel transit time, with some patients experiencing abdominal symptoms such as cramping, nausea or diarrhea.

If this happens, try introducing MCT oil into your diet in smaller quantities, or mixed in with foods and build up to full doses gradually.

Does Brain Octane Oil Need to be Refrigerated?

No. Brain Octane Oil should be stored in a cool, dry place, but does not need to be refrigerated.

Can you use Coconut Oil instead of MCT?

Adding coconut oil to your diet has many benefits, but if you are looking for a targeted boost, MCT oils, or specifically C8 Oil or Brain Octane Oil is more concentrated and therefore may have more benefit.

Coconut oil is very good for you. Coconut oil contains 48% lauric acid, 18% myistic acid, 8% caprylic acid, 7% capric acid and 0.5% caproic acid. The rest of coconut oil is made up of small amounts of other beneficial fatty acids.

The medium chain triglycerides in Brain Octane Oil are derived from 100% coconut oil, but contain only C8 Oil, or caprylic acid. Science has shown us that this medium chain triglyceride is directly absorbed from the stomach to the liver where it is metabolized and converted to ketones ready for use by the body.

For those following a ketogenic diet, this is more beneficial than coconut oil alone and also has more cognitive benefits for mental sharpness.

When comparing coconut oil with brain octane oil, you would need to consume huge amounts of coconut oil to achieve the same amount of C8 oil that is brain octane oil.

Cosmetic Benefits

Caprylic Acid is often known to be coconut oil’s secret ingredient – it is what leaves the hair and skin feeling soft and smooth.

Skin Treatment

Conventional wisdom holds that oil causes breakouts but this is actually incorrect. It is a combination of the overproduction of sebum in the skin and the increased turnover the cells of the skin that combine to block pores.

Bacteria on the skin infects the area and causes those nasty-looking pimples. The caprylic acid found in oil has anti-bacterial properties that soothe the infection and help to reduce inflammation.

It also helps  treat a skin condition called dermatophytosis. It doesn’t just cure acne and pimples, but it also reduces general inflammation as proven in a study.

Antifungal Properties

The cosmetic benefits of the oil are only a small portion of what it can do. It is a potent antifungal agent as well.

A study of caprylic acid has shown that it was very effective in treating a Candida yeast infection (The fungus that causes a vaginal yeast infection, oral thrush, and nail fungus).

Selective Digestive Disorder treatment

Since it has both anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, caprylic acid is useful in reducing the symptoms associated with inflammatory bowel disease or IBS, Crohn’s Disease and ulcerative colitis.

That said, if you suffer from these conditions, consult your doctor first about the proper dosage to use as it can upset the digestive tract.

Lowering High Cholesterol

Caprylic acid is also proven to lower high cholesterol.

Neuroprotection

The Caprylic Acid in coconut oil and palm oil protects the brain from degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease. In 2015 research showed that it formed a protective barrier in the blood vessels in the brain making the brain stronger and less prone to convulsions.

Faster Metabolism

MCTs are also known to speed up metabolism. This helps to support a low keto diet and in reaching the keto-adapted stage.
